The Template
1. We will arrange a scheduled date for your project to be templated & measured. On that date our representative will be at your residence between 8AM and 3 PM.
2. Any new cabinets must be installed prior to being able to template. All cabinets must be level in order to ensure a proper installation. Classic Tile & Marble will not be responsible for complications relating to un-level cabinetry.
3. Please have your sink and faucets selected and onsite so our technician can bring back the templates or sink to our shop. Also go over any additional cut-outs or holes and the location where they need to be.
4. If you are ordering granite backsplash, please specify the height as the standard is 4 inches. But due to any existing tile or wallpaper this may not be sufficient so go over this detail with the technician.
5. Make certain the technician goes over where the seams will be on your project if they are required.
6. If you have any additional questions regarding the project, please ask the technician while he is at your residence and he can address them onsite.
The Install
1. We will have scheduled a date for your project to be installed, our installers will arrive on the scheduled date between 8AM and 3PM. Due to the fact that things can change on the jobsite, we will attempt to give you as much notice as possible if there are any delays.
2. Please make sure your existing counters, sink and faucets have been removed if applicable. We do provide a removal and disposal service if you do require this, please let us know in advance and you will see an additional charge on your sales order. If Classic Tile & Marble is removing your existing counters, our installers will be as careful as possible but there is a risk that walls, wallpaper or other wall treatments may be damaged in the process.
3. Our installers are not licensed plumbers, therefore an installation includes only the mounting of the sink to the granite. You should get a plumber in 24 hours after the installation to allow some time for the sink to cure and to connect all the plumbing properly.
4. If any cut-outs or polishing needs to be done onsite (cooktop, faucet holes etc) it can get very dusty. Our workers will do their best to clean up after themselves, but if there is an open concept area it may be advised to close off the section where the installation will be taking place as well as any air circulation vents.
5. If it is wintertime, please clear your entranceway of snow and ice. Put down salt or sand, as we do not want to slip while carrying your new counters.
6. Please clear the path that the installers will be using to get to the installation point. This would include throw rugs, plants and pet dishes. Also remove any wall hangings along the path.
7. The installers will keep their shoes on at all times during the install. They are necessary to avoid slipping while moving the heavy granite.
8. Once completed, our installers will have you sign a completed worksheet and collect the final balance owing or take down credit card information.
Post Installation & Care
1. Do not use any chemical based cleaners to clean your natural stone counters. Use warm water and soap.
2. Your counters will come sealed. It is recommended that you seal granite at least once a year
